My name is Khaled Farek, and I am a motion graphic designer and an animator, working closely with businesses and projects to create animated videos for marketing reasons, or purely creative ones.
I have an Engineering and a Master's degree in Computer science, but I decided to continue working in the thing I'm passionate about, everything MOTION!
My goal is to perfect my animation skills using different mediums, and to eventually collaborate with studios and animators and have the ability to work on bigger projects and films.
Although I only started working in motion graphics in 2020, by then I had more than 4 years of work experience in different design and videography fields.
but in 2020, I discovered my passion for animation, and started my story with it, and this is my experience so far:
I'm working with a software development company as a Motion Graphic Designer, Working with clients from all over the world, Intelifox provides high tech solutions for individuals and companies, and gets involved in creating the base products for new startups.
I work solo creating marketing videos like ads and teasers, in addition to explainer videos that are the keystone for the marketing of the products created.
I took a career break of 6 months to focus on my computer science degrees, finished two thesis's and graduated in July, taking a master's degree and an engineering degree with very good marks.
my subject was making a mobile app that helps children with Autism Spectrum Disorder using AI, in which I implemented 3 Machine Learning and Deep Learning models.
Having two computer science degrees must sound out of the ordinary for a Motion Graphic Designer, but in my work experience, clients or employers in the tech industry always found my tech background interesting and useful, since i understand how their technologies work, or what the subject matter is, I'm always the best person to explain it in explainer videos or animated courses, and to do the best marketing for it!
Composable finance is also a company working in the blockchain industry, they have many projects that are shaping the future of this field, and it was in fact incubated at first by Advanced Blockchain, therefore i worked for both in the same time first for 5 months.
When Composable finance finished Advanced Blockchain's program in june, I was selected to be transfered to it and be amongst the awsome people working there.
I have the same responsabilities that i had working for Advanced Blockchain AG, and I really enjoy the creative liberty I have working here, we get to be as crazy as we want with our ideas.
This job teached me how to work in a team and collaborate on projects, and introduced me to the proper strecture most companies have.
Advanced Blockchain AG is a publicly listed investor, incubator, and partner in the blockchain industry that develops and supports projects on the cutting-edge of this field.
I worked in the marketing department, multimedia team, to create teaser, hype, explainer videos for marketing purposes for them and the projects and companies they incubated.
And it wasn't just videos, it was anything that got to do wtih animation, sometimes i got to work on special things like for example icons and json animations for websites.
This was a great experience for me, I got this project as a freelancer and worked on it for more than 3 months!
Dhaki.fr is an e-learning company based in france, They create computer science videos in french.
I was approached to make a full course in CSS3, I was provided with the visual identity of the course, the script and the voice over for 38 videos that were between 5 and 8mn of length!
This job contained:
-Character animation.
-Explanatory bits that go in depth to simplify certain theoretical aspects of the subject.
-coding animation parts that explain to the viewer how to write code and the result that comes with every line of it.
-sound design and video editing.
It was such a challenge to produce that much content in such a small period of time, it teached me how to work effectively, create templates for my self and preserve the high quality of my work even under immense pressure.
It was my first actual full time job in the field, I worked for this small production company in my city, I specialized in 2D animation and creating motion graphic videos or complementary elements to videos that the production company was working at at the time.
I worked alot on sound engineering and video editing too, even got the chance to work through this company, for a huge news outlet here in algeria (Echourouk online), and produce 1-2 videos EVERYDAY to cover the news.
